Solar Assault is the final stage in Solar Assault.
Overview[]
This stage takes place immediately after Speed Demon, the player has to infiltrate the inner sections of the Unknown Fortress while destroying waves of enemies along the way. Once the player reaches the end of the stage, Crab, the Shadow Dancer from Gradius II, appears climbing up and when the player tries to reach to the center, the Shadow Dancer drops down and begins its attack. After the Shadow Dancer is destroyed, the fighter must evade or shoot down several fighters as they proceed slowly to the Solar Assault Core, the Solar Assault Core appears after reaching the warp gate and is purely mechanical, with its only Attack is to send Enviromental hazards like Obstacles for a few bits.
Shooting the core of the base damages the boss and eventually will explode depends on certain hits.
Trivia[]
- In the original version of Solar Assault, there is no proper boss fight as the player immediately reached the Solar Assault Core.
