Planet Gradius Urban Underground Hierarchy (惑星グラディウス都市地下階層 Wakusei Guradiusu Toshi Chikagaisō) is the third stage in Gradius V.
Overview[]
This underground facility is huge and the player keep heading down. This facility is well-guarded with enemies of all kinds. During the descent, the player will be first greeted by waves of V Fighters and Guarmaids. Then the scrolling goes left, entering the fortress, with narrow paths that are difficult to navigate, full of Waiz dropping fighters and Grashia turrets shooting bullets. The player also has to destroy many doors to be able to continue their way.
At a certain point, the player will be heading down again for a section particularly difficult with Fire Cannons and Big Core MK I. Then, the player will be heading right, for the final section with waves of Big Core MK I and narrow paths leaving almost no room to maneuver. This is the last straight before reaching the boss, Ground Spider.
