Moai Orb (モアイ・オーブ Moai Ōbu) is the third boss in Gradius ReBirth.
Attack patterns[]
The boss will unleash a flurry of lasers, with little gaps to slip through. Afterward, the orb will detach and start to bounce around the area, creating thunderbolts as it does so. Moai heads will attack along with the orb. The orb will then return to the forehead of the giant moai head, repeating this process until it is destroyed.
The boss's weak spot is precisely this red orb. Once defeated, the boss will scream while exploding and falling into space.
Strategy[]
Overall, this boss isn't difficult as long as the player has a few Multiples when fought. It's also recommended to have Missiles and two Speed upgrades.
Trivia[]
- It is one of the only three Moai bosses where the weakness is not the mouth itself, after the Crystal Moai and Yoshiko, prior to Otomedius Gorgeous.
