The Moai Battleship (素敵な戦艦 Moai Senkan) is a recurring miniboss and stage in the Parodius series.
Description[]
A huge battleship that actually acts as the stage itself, after which it is named, with its most prominent feature being a huge Moai head on the front wearing sunglasses, with scars all over his face and with a malicious grinning expression. The captain of the ship sits at the top of the vessel. The Moai Battleship is armed with an arsenal of Samoais, a few standard Moais, and hatches that are attached both on the upper and lower parts of the hull.
Attack patterns[]
The large frontal head spews streams of ion rings straightforward at a considerable speed, while it also "sneezes" several projectiles at once in a spreading manner from its nose.
Its entire hull is covered by Samoais and a few standard Moais that shoot at the player, as well as hatches from where it deploys groups of Flying Moais that chase them.

- The Moai-themed battleship (as both stage and boss) is akin to Cerberus from Thunder Force III, and its successor Cerberus II, found in Vios, from Thunder Force IV.
