Gradius chronology

Note:This chronology heavily relies on the word '~ years after the Bacterian war' mentioned in the game's storyline. Every 'Bacterian war' is considered as the 3rd Bacterian war - the final showdown with the head Bacterian. So this chronology can be wrong if the 'Bacterian war' mentioned in a game was acutally refering to other wars with Bacterian army. Also, games with the same name(Like Salamander and Salamander MSX) are considered as events occured in the same year in this chronology. This adds the chance of being wrong too, but currently this is the best what a Gradius fan can do, considering lack of information about these problems from official sources.

Currently Nemesis GB and Gradius:The Interstellar Assault, Salamander Arcade, and Life Force have the problems above.

The difference between the Gradian years and Earth years is of 6000 years.

Year 6635: Birth of Dr. Venom.

Year 6641: Birth of James Burton.

Year 6644: First War against the Bacterians. Later called Northern Cross War. (Nemesis 3, Stage 5~Final stage)

Year 6645: The Gradian Empire makes a protection policy for the Wreekians.

Year 6658: Second War with Bacterians. The Bacterians get owned by a 17-year old James Burton and his ship, the Vic Viper. (Gradius)

Year 6658: The Bacterians take over a different planet called Nemesis. (Nemesis GB)

Year 6658: A Bacterian squadron ambushes a group of Gradian ships, but Vic Viper escapes the attack and eventually destroys the Bacterian squadron. (Gradius: The Interstellar Assault)

Year 6660: Last act of Second War with Bacterians. (Gradius II)

Year 6664: Battle for Antichthon. In the end, Venom got arrested for a failed coup (Gradius ReBirth)

Year 6665: Venom escapes the prison planet Sard and conspires with the Bacterians. The Bacterians turn Venom into a cyborg to maximize Venom's Wreekian powers.

Year 6666: The Silent Nightmare. James becomes Lars 18th. (Gradius 2 MSX)

Year 6709: First War with Salamander (Salamander Arcade and MSX)

Year 6718: James Burton passes away.

Year 6790: Birth of David Burton.

Year 6809: Yet another fight with the Bacterians. (Nemesis 3, Stage 1~4)

Year 6840: Third War with Bacterians. This time, the Vic Viper reaches Planet Bacterian and destroys Bacterian, the creator and central system of the Bacterions. (Gradius III)

Year 6842-6850: A huge creature named Life Force tries to devour Gradius and Latis.(Life Force), in the second salamander war, Another Planetoid was created (Special Force), destoyed by Vic Viper And Lord british (Salamander PCE.)

Year 6852: Hyper Space Fighter 'Alpinia' is constructed. A mysterious enemy attacks Gradius. (Solar Assault)

Year 6560-8019 (2008): A piece of Gofer reaches a distant planet and transforms it into a battleship. (Gradius IV), after Gofer defeated, his brain divided into 2 parts (Otomedius/Otomedius G.)

Year 7012: Some guy named Doom (or known as Giga due to miscorrect of the boss.) revives the Salamander force. (Salamander 2)

Year 7040: A mysterious evil force called the Original Visions of Ultimate Monster, also known as O.V.U.M., attacks Gradius from the Dark Nebula. (Gradius Gaiden)

Year 7240: A piece of Bacterion lands on planet Lamiless and transforms it into a fortress (Gradius Galaxies)

Year 8010: Venom uses Bacterian cells (either from Gofer, Bacterion, or Venom himself) to recreate his fleet. Together with Vic viper and Alphina, they used a certain time machine in order to stop them. (Gradius V)

Year 8018: The Gradian Empire contacts with another planets, Earth and Mel, and creates "G". Vic Viper T-301, Lord British, Twinbee, Winbee and Gwinbee join "G".

Year 2007-8 A.D.: The Bacterians attack the Earth, the Angel Squadron, created by G, are used to repel this attack (Otomedius and Otomedius Gorgeous).

Year 2011 A.D.: Venom is rebirth one more time. An unknown entity called Dark Force attacks the Earth. (Otomedius Excellent).

Year 8025: The war between Gradius Union and Lars Empire begins. Meanwhile, a Big Core attempts to escape from the Lars Empire. (Gradius NEO and Gradius NEO Imperial)

Year 8030: Final Bacterian War (???)
