Big Core Custom is sucessful in escaping from the Lars Empire after destroying Genocide Core. Sadly, Force Viper destroys Big Core Custom, not knowing that that Big Core Custom was trying to escape from the Lars Empire. Big Core Custom's wreckage flows towards the sun. This is the only sad ending in the Gradius Series.

Gradius NEO Imperial (グラディウスNEO -IMPERIAL- Guradiusu NEO Imperial?) is a horizontally-scrolling shooter game developed and published by Konami on March 1, 2004 for mobile phones, and was released on NTT DoCoMo's FOMA 900i line of phones in Japan.

In contrast to all other Gradius games, the player controls the opposing force through the use of a customized version of the Big Core. However, since the Big Core in this game is a rogue ship escaping from the Lars Empire, which is the enemy in Gradius NEO, players will not fight against the Gradius Union.

The Gradius NEO series appears as the sequel of the last Nemesis game, Nemesis 3.
