The Meteor (メテオ Meteo) is a recurring enemy in the Gradius series.
Description[]
Meteors are large rock that appear in the Asteroids like zones. They have various sizes and the bigger ones, when destroyed, split in smaller versions. Some meteors are also found in reddish versions, these ones will drop Power Capsules upon their destruction.
In Gradius V, enemy fire can also destroy them as demonstrated during the boss fight in Asteroid Front Base. There are also Meteor Missiles, they float sightly in orbit and cannot be destroyed.
