The Electronic Cage is the sub boss of the last stage in Gradius.
Description[]
The Electronic Cage first appears in Gradius. It looks like two bars, which fire electricity between each other. The Cage doesn't appears in the NES version of the game.
A parody version was later featured in Parodius Da!, and it was later upgraded into Electronic Cage MK2 in Gradius ReBirth. The Electronic Cages, as well as their upgraded/parodied versions, are generally found just before the final bosses.
Attack patterns[]
The Electronic Cage doesn't have much of a pattern. It can't be destroyed, It flies in, generates four streams of electricity between the bars, and then stays there for a while and leave. The only real danger are the Duckers, not the cage itself. The cage is easily avoided if you don't fly into the middle of it.
