Bacterian Fortification Center (バクテリアン要塞中枢 Bakuterian Yōsai Chūsū) is the seventh stage in Gradius V.
Overview[]
It is the second last stage in Gradius V before going back to the past with the battleship. It is one of the hardest stages as it combines with elements of the fortress from Stage 6 (except the green goo) part, the High Speed section and the Mechanical Base that houses the master of the Bacterian Empire.
At the end of the stage, the Vic Viper attempted to destroy the front hatch of the Bacterian ship to no avail. Then the computer analyzed the ship, revealing it to be the same ship from Stage 2 and the main weakness is the rear hatch that required two ships to destroy the master housed inside the ship. The pilot realized that he enacted that action in the previous stage. Now with new intel, the pilot decided to create the time anomaly in order to convince his past self to infiltrate the ship and defeat the one who is housed inside it.
