BEMANI is a general brand name given to all of Konami's rhythm and music simulation series. The brand was originally named the Games & Music Division (G.M.D.) until it was changed in honor of its first successful game, beatmania in 1999. The name BEMANI is a Japanese syllabic abbreviation of beatmania. Following the success of beatmania, the line was expanded with other music-based games throughout the years.
Given that BEMANI is a Konami brand, many Gradius songs have been featured in their games, either as remixes or medleys.
