Aoba Anoa (
She is voiced by Rina Satō.
History[]
Aoba is a bright and cheerful 15-years-old girl with a penchant for blue. When not saving the world, Anoa is a second year high school student at St. Gradius Academy. She has recently been recruited into the G organization after it was found she had a large amount of Platonic Power. She works hard to try and live up to the reputations of the other members, and endeavors to be friends with everyone she meets.

Aoba Anoa in her Riding Viper, the Vic Viper. An overall balanced character, she is good for beginners. Her options are orange in color (like those from the original Vic Viper ship) and she is capable of having four of them.

Aoba Anoa in her Riding Viper, the Vic Viper T-301. The only actual difference with the T-301 model is that the options are blue instead of orange. The weapon set remains the same.
Aoba Anoa (Hyper)[]
Hyper Aoba Anoa and her Riding Viper, the Metalion. Aoba reaches this form and the Metalion Viper resonates with her when Platonic Power floods over her. This Hyper form is for advanced and expert players, because there is a total of nine slots on the Power Meter with the addition of Back Beam, Up Laser and Down Laser... and on top of this, she now has a maximum of two options.

- Anoa is the first Otomedius character to upgrade her ultimate form, known as "Hyper Aoba Anoa".
- Anoa's DLC BGMs are based on the Gradius series, although mainly focused in the Arcade Trilogy, such as "Challenger 1985", "Synthetic Life" and "In The Wind".
- Anoa's alternate DLC costume is her St. Gradius school uniform in both Otomedius G and X.
- In Otomedius G, Anoa and the original Vic Viper come face-to-face with each other for the first time in her epilogue; after this, she realizes that she is never alone, not even during the missions.
- Anoa is the first squadron member whose hair is changed to blue while in her pilot form. However, her civilian hair color is black.
- This is the first Otomedius character to expand her Riding Viper customization, such as "T301" and "Metalion".
- In an extension voice clip from Otomedius Excellent, Anoa is heard humming the song of "Challenger 1985" which is not included the game.
- In Otomedius Excellent, the concept of her becoming more powerful with the transformation of Hyper Anoa as her Platonic power grows is relevant from a story perspective, but when it happens in the game it strips all of your powers and weapons, leaving you to face the final stage with default speed, no weapons and no options.
- This concept is based on the transitions seen from Thunder Force V & Thunder Force VI, although they occurred at different circumstances (RVR-01 "Gauntlet" to RVR-02 "Vambrace" via RVR-02B "Brigandine" & RVR-00 "Phoenix" to Syrinx via ORN Faust core).
- The exclusive laser weapon that comes with the school uniform outfit is the Vector Laser from the Metalion in Nemesis 2. Here, the weapon is more or less like a blue-colored, differently-shaped version of the Wave laser weapon. Although stronger by some margin, it cannot pass through walls like in Nemesis 2 and has laser-like movement like Winder double weapon.
- Aoba was originally going to appear as a unlockable ship in Gradius ReBirth but was cut late in development. Her sprites can still be found in the game's data.
